Up until now, I've been a great fan of the MVC pattern for developing web applications. For the web, I've developed mostly in PHP (with the Kohana and CodeIgniter frameworks) and Ruby (RoR).
So, what should I look into?
Another option would be the following: I'd just make "routed models" in PHP/ruby/go/whatnot. Those will analyse the request, call the db, give back some json.
This approach looks interesting to me but it lacks any substantial documentation or academic analysis, so I'm a little afraid of the leap.
