After having been fully spoiled by Navicat Premium for PostgreSQL and MySQL, I enter the SQL Server world and find that the management studio doesn't hold a candle to Navicat, at least as it relates to viewing data.

Fron your experience, what are the really good programmer tools for Microsoft SQL Server 2008?

What particular features are you looking for? I personally prefer SQL Dev over SQL Server, but found out later on that I just didn't do enough exploring to get what I want. – Jonn Oct 18 '10 at 5:01
Indeed, Navicat is such a fine polished tool that I use it on Linux as well. – mhitza Oct 22 '10 at 21:31
Odd that they support MySQL, SQLite, Oracle and PostgreSQL but not MS SQL Server. – Rudi Nov 18 '10 at 13:59

I asked the navicat support team what their plans were, and to my surprise, they were about ready to release it. I got the beta version, and it works great!

How about Toad, Toad for Oracle is really good, the MySQL client is OK, although not as good as Navicat imo.
