Sometimes, even after a full nights sleep, I still feel like i'm not connecting all of the dots when I get to work until mid morning or lunch. However it would be nice if I could have my project's suspended state paged in before then. I am curious about any tips or warmups to getting the day started right. I have a morning commute, so trying to do something on the way is possible, but I can also spend some time at my desk. There are a lot of "mentally stimulating activities" out there, so I am looking for things people have tried and like or are still doing. Maybe a daily sudoko, cool website will small programming exercises, or writing with your non-dominant hand for a little, or something else?

Nothing really beats a nice cup of tea when you first get into the office!
Seriously though, I find having a short stand up meeting with the team first thing in the morning helps. We each spend no more than a couple of minutes highlighting what we did yesterday, what we're going to do today, and whether we're stuck on anything.
