Programmers Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for professional programmers interested in conceptual questions about software development. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Are there are any periodic newsletters/articles about unique coding tips/techniques that can be subscribed to? I want to expand my arsenal and I'm sure there's some experienced programmers out there hoping to pass on their knowledge.

Of course I could just scour the web and look at other people's code, but its always nice to

always nice to...? Finish your thought please. – Bernard Mar 26 '12 at 2:30
Assembling a generic list does not work well with the Q&A format of the site, we generally expect questions to be on actual practical problems. Please read our FAQ thoroughly and the "Real Questions Have Answers" blog post for further details. – Yannis Rizos Mar 26 '12 at 3:40
ACCU have a public archive of their Overload journal, which I would highly recommend. – Mark Booth Mar 26 '12 at 13:11

Usenet is a good place. comp.lang.c++ is good for C++ discussions.

Videos of conference talks tend to be good resources. Google I/O, PyCon, Qt Developer Days, etc.

And let's not forget Channel 9.
