I have a requirement for an application that takes Doc, Docx content (means whole document) and converts them to RTF content.

I am trying but it does not convert document content to RTF content. But it just change the extension .doc/.docx to .rtf, not content of document.

How exactly did you try to perform the conversion? What makes you think that the resulting .rtf document is the same as the original .Docx document? Did you run a compare between the input and output documents? –  Emmad Kareem Jun 30 '12 at 12:48
Do you have the Word COM object that you can reference? –  JeffO Jun 30 '12 at 13:14
Sounds like a SuperUser.com question (or some other SE site). Surprised this hasn't been closed yet. –  haylem Jun 30 '12 at 20:56

You can use Libre-Office in linux and Microsoft office in Windows. You have to save as the file in the extension that you want ie. RTF format.

you can copy the contents of the file and then paste it in the rtf file which can be created by using notepad or wordpad.
