I am interested in PHP and OOP and I am looking for a nice PHP book with lots of examples and simple, easily understandable texts. I know the basics, so I am not a complete beginner, but I am not very advanced, too. I tried reading PHP Objects Patterns Practice by Matt Zandstra and understood maybe the half of it, but then it became complex and hard to understand for me. I tried learning patterns of design but some of them are difficult.

Please, advise me which book to read and maybe some sites where I can see OO codes of applications. I am also searcing of some simple task or projects to write in order to practise and understand things better.

Tnank you very much in advance! :)

If you live in or near a large city, try searching for local PHP meetup groups. I know this isn't "a book", but it's something you should consider.
