Programmers Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for professional programmers interested in conceptual questions about software development. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I spent this summer as a PM, so my programming skills may have gotten a little rusty.

I want to refresh those skills, and I'm looking for things like online hackathons or competitions. Preferably ones that happen every week or day so I can practice often.

Where should I look ?

This question is definitely an offtopic, and it will be closed. However, you can refresh your programming skills in online competitions at TopCoder (weekly matches). You can also use ACM training servers (so called "online judges", e.g. spoj.pl) to solve problems at different skill levels. –  dasblinkenlight Sep 15 '12 at 0:59

There also is the StackExchange GodeGolf site. But tell me, did you really spend the summer as a prime minister? –  Mr Lister Sep 15 '12 at 7:19

There a number of online hackathons and programming courses to refresh variety of skills. However, you may also need a good structured programming course to re-new your skills and complete several applications.

Here is a good course start with 10 Sources for Free Computer Programming Courses Online. Choose the one that you feel most familiar with.

Other than that there are some paid Online Training & Programming Courses that you may want to enroll to get some certificate at the end.

And some well-known hackathons like:

Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) has a weekly competition every Saturday using the ACM TJU page. You can also just try various problems without participating in the competitions and it has an online judge. You can also create competitions or participate in other public competitions being hosted.
