I am looking for anything else has the same WPF functionality (animation, 3D,...)

but can work in other platforms (Linux, Mac,...)

something powerful, fast to develop with, can create my own custom styling on the basic component

Your question is vague. What are you looking for, specifically? Are you looking for a GUI controls library? An animation system? A 3D graphics API? A declarative programming style? –  M. Dudley Nov 19 '12 at 16:24

What are the "strength points" of WPF? It is rather unlikely that the *nix people most qualified to answer this one know an awful lot about WPF. –  tdammers Nov 19 '12 at 18:27

You want to look at JavaFX. It is a declarative syntax that looks like WPF. It supports transitions., animations, custom component.

They have builds that run on all the platforms you mention.

This has come a long away in a surpisingly short space of time - certainly worth the investigation alongside qt –  Martijn Verburg Nov 20 '12 at 8:11

I think Qt (Qt5) with new version of QtQuick2 and QML technology is your best alternative. it's cross-platform (Linux, Mac, Windows...).

Please note, if you are not comfortable with C++ there is Qt/Python bindings called PySide.
