What is a good IDE for client side JavaScript development?

I looked at http://www.jetbrains.com/webstorm/ Webstorm and got impressed by it's features. What is the best IDE for client-side coding - javascript coding. I'm currently also using VS 2012, and it has improved syntax highlightning. Are there something that I've not seen?

Alternatives:

  • Webstorm
  • VS 2012
  • Aptana
  • Sublime Text
  • Notepad++

Or sth else?

I don't think you can do much better than WebStorm right now. – mcknz Dec 27 '12 at 15:28

Sublime text is one of the best text editors out there. It stands head and shoulders above any other text editors.

Isn't it just a text editor? – marko Dec 27 '12 at 15:19

I tried it, I thought it was rubbish, what does it do that is new,good or exciting ? Other than have a document map - which is not useful for me at all. Its just a pretty version of notepad, but not as good as notepad2, or notepad++ andfar and away a lot weaker than an IDE. – NimChimpsky Dec 27 '12 at 15:59

@NimChimpsky - had you read about what it does, maybe you wouldn't think it's rubbish. It's got an extensive feature list and it's a customizable editor. It's not the best out there, but if you invest time and will - it's a great tool. Definitely not rubbish. – N.B. Jan 29 at 15:47

@N.B. why don;t you just tell a couple of the features that make it good ? I am always open to tools that make me more productive, but I could not find a single thing that was useful ... – NimChimpsky Jan 29 at 15:51
