I want to implement some byte code mimics in 8051.
I used 24c16 as memory unit and took instructions from computer COM port and store it in 24c16 memory and later on in running mode it translates each instruction and performs some action across each byte code received from serial port.
Can I call it as a virtual machine? What are the minimum requirements to be fulfilled to call my machine as virtual machine or OS?
I want to implement something like Java VM for 8051. What minimum requirements should I have to implement? Are PLC falling into the category of VM or OS? Are PLC also following the same kind of implementation?
