I am using xml serialization for importing/exporting data from/to xpdl format.

And I need a little advice - to what pattern to use. Right now I have 1 huge class for controlling the whole process (it deals with different exceptions for different modeling notations) and I would like to separate those differences somehow. But they are distributed among this class.

Should I make different classes for different notations with exceptions - and inject them into every method of the base class?
