I'd like to understand the working of CLR in .Net.

Is there a book out there that's the de-facto standard for describing details, and other helpful information on CLR in .Net? What about that book makes it special?

The best that this question can hope for is a list of people's favourite books. – ChrisF Jan 13 '11 at 12:54

+1 I was going to say this one – rmx Jan 13 '11 at 12:58

As on-line articles I would recommend the CLR Inside out column

As a side and note, I have read the CLR via C# book as stated in this answer and gave a +1, I don't think there is a better book.

@KeessDijk - offering an answer that's already been offered is redundant and unnecessary. You could expand upon your other answer. What types of things are covered in the discussions? Why was it useful to you? – Walter Jan 13 '11 at 13:46

Hi Walter thanks for the comments, the question asks for a book and an article, with the book I only can agree with the given answer. I add the on-line articles. I will change the order in my answer to make it more clear. – KeesDijk Jan 13 '11 at 13:55
that does help, but you still haven't explained why/how the online articles helped you. Having the link is fine but the value in your answer is your personal experience with the information in that link. – Walter Jan 13 '11 at 15:06
