Programmers Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for professional programmers interested in conceptual questions about software development. It's 100% free.

I'm just wondering because the .js (JavaScript source files) on my computer have an icon from Windows Scripting Host which looks so Windows 95. I tried to look into devenv.exe but there aren't any differently colored icons for different languages' source files in it. Even better, of course, would be icons where the extension or something language specific (++ or so) is featured in the icon. Do any of the DLLs or EXE files in the Visual Studio 2010 installation contain good icons or do you know of any other good source?

There is a large zip file with images in the default installation of VS2010 at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\VS2010ImageLibrary (take out the (x86) if you are on a 32-bit machine.

Well, the only script icon in there is a VBscript icon which look exactly like the Windows 95 scripting host icon, but anyway, it's good to know this. – Felix Dombek Apr 10 '11 at 14:07
