Recently a friend of mine went the Hackfest sponsored by Quick Left. Which sounded like a lot of fun, and I kind of wish I could have participated in it myself. So, now I'm looking for ideas that like the Hackfest that could help developers on my team innovate, and think wildly about how do stuff with the Web, etc. Anyone have some ideas?

4 weeks out of the year (one each quarter), my company gives the development team a whole week called "Innovation Week" where we work on projects and technologies that we think could further the company and ourselves, but are not tied to any specific features or sprint work.
Turns out, most of these innovation projects inspired actual projects, and also spawned a lot of cool stuff that we use on a day to day basis to make our lives easier :)
