I'm considering writing a blog about my experiences while programming. Unfortunately, I doubt I'll be able to post regularly. What I'm wondering is if there are any good software development blogging sites that incorporate posts from multiple people, allowing each one to post at their own rate and, because there's a number of them, wind up with enough content that it's worth visiting them?

Context: There are three types of posts that I'd likely create:

  • Personal thoughts on various topics (I think language feature X is important because..., etc)
  • Personal experience with a given language/framework/etc (I had problems with framework X because...)
  • Personal experience trying to solve a specific problem (Here's what I needed, here's the problems I ran into, and here's how I solved it)

Edit: Of course, I mistyped the title as "community glob sites" at first. That doesn't bode well for my blogging performance ;)

  1. Go ahead an launch your blog

  2. Expose RSS (ATOM) feed

  3. Post a few of your best articles on popular sites like DZone and Reddit

  4. In case your articles get noticed you will find your RSS feed gets subscribed to by multiple aggregation services worldwide, without much of your effort

  5. Have fun

Most of the major blogging applications can handle multiple users. So you might just set up a site with a few buddies.

What I'm really looking for at this time is a site that has blog postings by a number of software developers, one which I can occasionally contribute to. – RHSeeger Jun 8 '11 at 19:03

I have a blog about my android programming experience and with >2.000 unique visitors a day its not that bad.

I tried to get some company on posting there, but the most guys do one or two posts and are never heard of again. If you already know that you will blog not regularly you should consider to join a team/blog which does already exist.

That's exactly what I'm looking for, actually; a site that has a group of bloggers already posting there irregularly. You go to the main page and see the list of posts from all bloggers (and can limit your list to a single blogger if you choose). You can sign up to submit posts. – RHSeeger Jun 8 '11 at 19:31
This is a basic wordpress blog. So basically every wordpress instance supports what you are looking for. The main problem is to get a good team thats work working for. – WarrenFaith Jun 8 '11 at 19:32
