I am trying to identify differences between two different versions of Citrix, between Metaframe and XenApp. Problem is, because they are intended to solve the same problem, they both have interfaces with the same names. For example, a call in ASP to:
Set icaObj = CreateObject("Citrix.ICAClient")
...succeeds regardless of which is installed. I have been using this call to determine if the Citrix client is installed on a user's machine. If this throws an error then it's not installed. This doesn't help me with these two iterations of the product however, because they both respond positively to this call to CreateObject. I've already presented the general question of how do I distinguish between them, both on StackOverflow and the Citrix forums, and apparently nobody knows. If you happen to know, please tell me, but...
Please tell me, however, is there some utility that can run through the .dll's, or look in a .dll, and find objects, methods, and so forth, so I can find differences which I can use to distinguish them?
I've tried using ClsIdVw.exe, but it doesn't work properly, and it looks like MS doesn't have it available any longer.
