Not to be flip, but I think there are no good uses of VBScript left, and it should be entirely replaced by Powershell, which can accomplish all the same tasks much more cleanly. Sadly it is still in use in many places for simple automation (renaming files and the like) and as a scripting language in many applications. Legacy applications in Active Server Pages would be another use of them today. For example, someone may have built a web application years ago in this and it just never got transitioned into something else. I'm not saying this is a good use of VBScript, but it is done and is something to be managed in some places these days. |

VBScript is still very useful as an application scripting language, as it ships with Windows. ie, like VBA. |

I guess on older versions of Windows that can't run Powershell admins might find it useful as a scripting language, since you know it will be installed by default. But Microsoft recommend converting VBScript to Powershell where possible, so hopefully that will be the final nail in it's coffin. But the pessimist in me still feels it rotting corpse might linger for some time yet. |

I don't know of others but I use VBScript to Automate Adobe Photoshop and it works like a charm. We have build a commercial application that will help users in correcting images/photos at a click of a button. |
