I would like to be up to date about Java debugging.
Is there a book out there that's the de-facto standard for describing best practices, methodologies, and other helpful information on Java debugging? What about that book makes it special?

We're looking for long answers that provide some explanation and context. Don't just give a one-line answer: please explain why you're recommending it as a solution. Answers that don't explain anything will be deleted. See Good Subjective, Bad Subjective for more information. |

For a more pattern's perspective to debugging, there is Bug Patterns in Java Its Java-specific and focuses on various bug patterns with symptoms, causes, cures and prevention. Although not specific to debugging, can't help but recommend Clean Code ... since the best cure for bugs is not to create them in the first place. |

Have a look at book called Debug It! It's not Java-specific, but the principles of debugging are generally quite language-agnostic. |
