If you're lucky, you will only get a segmentation fault.

comment Why do some programmers think there is a contrast between theory and practice?
I highly doubt there is anything "theoretical" about UML...

comment How often do CPUs make calculation errors?
@NickC: are you implying that there is nothing practical about this question? So you think the question of whether hardware works or not doesn't matter? What about when it actually matters whether the program works properly (is hard real time programming only theoretical, or too advanced for people on this site?)? What about hardware where one user can steal keys from other users because of information leaking through side channel? Damn I wish there was a downvote button for comments.

comment What is the benefit of not using Hungarian notation?
It doesn't necessarily violate DRY in a dynamic language; it's just unidiomatic. DRY isn't necessarily always good; ex: C macros.

comment Why isn't OCaml more popular?
Why did more than 0 people upvote someone who claims a language has no usable hash table implementation? I can't stand languages that build in useless crap like regular expressions and dictionaries in them, a language should be as decoupled as possible from libraries, to keep the critical TCB down. A language that relies on dictionaries to get anything done is utter crap.

comment 5 years of university education vs. 5 years of work experience - Which would you pick if hiring?
Anyone who understands computer science understands that version control is just a directed acyclic graph, nothing hard.
