How to approach refactoring an existing web application? How would you recommend testing the "view" portion of a legacy application - IE, the HTML/JavaScript/CSS/etc portion? I agree unit testing is the way to go, but the testing of application code seems difficult to automate. |

Is there a canonical book on Ruby on Rails? +1, agile web development is the book to read on this topic, since it is co-authored by DHH (who wrote Rails). Start there to get a solid foundation. |
