comment Why do people consider Python a weak language?
As @user414076 said, Don't switch. Rather, switch your friends, or (probably better) the opinion you have of them. None of the points they raise have any merit on their own.

@SK-logic Would you mind fleshing that out into an answer? I'd appreciate that!

Is it just me? I don't get how this explains why we need callback functions.

comment How is Nothing a subtype of every other type in Scala
"the relevance of defining Nothing as subtype is limited to all places, where subtyping is relevant." What do you want to convey with that? X is relevant where X is relevant?

comment Why are references rarely used in PHP?
@FlorianMargaine No, suppose objects were passed by reference in PHP: f($obj) given function f($x) { $x = new X; }, would have $obj refer to a different object than before the call to f(). However, since objects aren't passed by reference, $obj isn't modified if you were to execute this with PHP. In that way, PHP does the same as Java.

comment What are the advantages of server-side Javascript and when would you use it?
I took this to mean "server-side JavaScript" compared to "server-side [something else]" in which case this isn't a duplicate.

comment Why is Python recommended as an entry level programming language?
Judging from your comment, by "types are transparent" you mean the rules that govern types are easy to understand? What exactly did you intend to say?

comment Why are references rarely used in PHP?
@FlorianMargaine No, the two are very different and it's important to realize why that is so.
