Thanks, I've edited the answer to name that abbreviation.

comment Is better Show() + Hide() or SetVisible(bool visible)?
You can easily document them to eliminate that confusion though. I didn't as this was a simple example.

Yes, that would be similar to what using the NDC does, but it wouldn't be supported natively by the logger. The beauty of using NDC is that you can manage it with the log formatting string.

@PeterAjtai I think what I'm saying is that any effort will pay dividends and often will distinguish you from the crowd.

@PeterAjtai Keeping up to date and developing myself is probably my main "hobby". It's easy to find the time if you're committed to it. Even half an hour a day doing something will compound over time. I probably spend an hour a day reading articles and blog posts from various sources (whilst waking up, lunch break, before I go to sleep, etc) and I average a book a month on top of that (mostly during my commute). Add on dabbling with a new language/framework for a few hours over a weekend and you get a lot of payback for what isn't much effort.

"do pure backend developers care what their code ends up looking like in the frontend?" The UI is how your code looks, not the appearance of your actual code. Read the question.

God no! I mean I don't care what the UI my service supports looks like (that much). How the hell do you end up as a backend programmer if you don't value clean, maintainable code?
