Or perhaps the other way around: I'd rather you didn't use global variables but if you do be sure to use a condom.

comment When it comes to hosting your personal throw-away projects, does one service and project structure stand out?
Also, Github is perfect for storing things like Project Euler solutions and code golf snippets through the use of gists.

comment How to deal with low level guys?
@Christopher Mahan: humour is one of the most subjective things there is. Nothing is funny to everyone. Besides, my point is not that banter is funny, my point is that maybe the other devs are trying to include md into the group. If it is actual bullying, then that's a different matter. Seeing the behaviour from their perspective might show md that it's not bad but welcoming, it might not. I'm just trying to give him options other than being offended.

comment Programmer's blog - How often should I post?
@Developer Art: it was just a silly joke, I was giving the advice my dentist gave about brushing. But you could say that the quality of the brushing is as important as the frequency, if you want to make it an analogy...

comment How to foster intrinsic motivation in a software team
I gave qualification in my answer. Studies show that financial motivators stymie behaviours that require creative thought.
