@omouse, redesign and refactoring have meanings too and do not cover things we generally call "mantainance". If some software uses a now deprecated function, or an external api changes, the thing you're going to do is neither redesign nor refactoring.

I like the pretty print style as well, but I'm afraid this solution would be too different in looks from the rest of the code. Maybe when I'll decide to go completely functional with php - and get fired - I'll adopt it.
