@Tim: Alright, I see your point. Any practically irreplaceable employee just ends up hurting himself/herself. First, slogging to create the dependency, then to sustain the pressure of handling the job single-handedly, and then ensuring that no one steals it from him/her. Had this energy be utilized creatively, they would have grown exponentially in that duration.
