As I stated in my first paragraph, I find that companies that use assembly on a regular basis are rare, but existant. That's my opinion though, not a fact by any means.

I'm sorry, I don't think eff'ing off a manager or project owner in a new job is going to work well for you. I've been in the exact same situation and all people care about at the start is results, results, results. Produce results and then you have a chance at changing people's minds, because they now know that you're an able worker capable of doing the job. Suggest improvements and you might just be heard. Not the other way around, you'll get fired before your trial period ends.
