What's the best place for a high school programmer to get his work noticed? @maple_shaft You probably have give one of the best answers here. Life isn't just about your career, so if you devote all your time to it when you're young you'll suddenly find yourself somewhere down the line wishing you'd done some silly laughable things you can count on to make you smile and others laugh. |

What is the best PHP ORM library? I am in a bind with similar questions. I have come to the conclusion that we need to build our own in house framework and tools to consolidate all our projects and I'm swinging towards the j2EE direction but I'd rather stay on php. However I have no knowledge of php enterprise solutions on hand. Good question |

What kind of test should be given to Java EE programmers? Your answer whilst right on the money maybe more than we require (the part about RESTful is lost on me for the moment, and this is the part that's the "more") however I'm also considering giving conceptual tests at the interview like numerical reasoning (even though mine isn't the greatest) and pattern recognition (which I'm good at) |

Advice for transitioning into a Java developer position from doing other types of web development? I would probably agree with this and AmaDaden's advice the most. If only that mobile device development and all it's corollaries are gaining ground in development at the moment. |

What kind of test should be given to Java EE programmers? Both... We'll be developing web application architecture. Well I'm pushing for a php re-development solution but in the meantime we have to maintain the Java EE one and develop parts for it too. We also have to consult on J2EE dev for a banking client sometime in the not-so-distant future. |
