I'm a .Net programmer for a well-known software development outsourcing company, with inclination towards web development.

The competent programmer is fully aware of the limited size of his own skull. He therefore approaches his task with full humility, and avoids clever tricks like the plague. -- Edsger Dijkstra

comment Is the “jQuery programming style” a kind of Reactive programming?
jQuery selectors are like XSLT template selectors to be precise, they're CSS Selector + JQuery-specific. Anyway, I agree chained method simulates UNIX piping. My point is that JQuery used existing paradigms to create an elegant way to deal with DOM.

JQuery = functional paradigm + chained methods. Existing concepts used by J Resig create a library that deals with DOM elegantly

Ah, makes sense. --> is actually two tokens, the -- to delimit comment, and > to end SGML instruction. Now, I have an idea on where <![CDATA[ ... ]]> originated.

The section you're referring to. When I read what the SGML specs intended for -- within the comment, my head spins around on the complexity it will introduce later on.

comment Simple explanation of Continuous Integration
We had a similar story in which we upgraded a custom application built on SP 2003 to SP 2007. Using VSS (yes, VSS :), each developer checked out a portion of their file, coded for a week and two, then when we integrated our code, boom, that when the problem started since our code deviated significantly. We fixed the integration problem for a month, and the project rented a hotel to accommodate those who live very far on weekdays. On that day, I learned to integrate code on a daily basis :-)

Well, it's that's the only answer, then I have no choice :-(, though there might be better answer than that.

comment Why is Python recommended as an entry level programming language?
@JohnDoDo What difference does it make if, in C# or Java, I decided to convert private fields to public to hack around? BTW, in Python, you can prefix the property with an underscore to make it private (though not really hidden)
