I have worked professionally with software development since 1997. Since year 2000 I have worked as an independent contractor, helping various business in developing their internal and external IT systems. Since 2002 I have worked almost exclusively with the .NET framework.

Of notable work can be mentioned IT-Jobbank, Denmark's largest online job board for IT professionals, where I was the lead developer and architect.

I think that what you are describing is only a symptom of a more serious problem, that your boss tries to micro-manage your development team (is there a team, or is it just you?).

comment Data persistence for transactional customer emails
I wouldn't send a message to a queue from a stored procedure, I would send it from c# code (since the question is tagged with c#)

comment Data persistence for transactional customer emails
Why not just use something like MSMQ (perhaps wrapped nicely using something like Rebus of NServiceBus) to send a message containing contents for the email to be sent from the application server to the emailer service. Since MSMQ supports enlisting into the DTC, you can update the data in the database, and send the message to the email service, in a single transaction.

comment Is it worth registering software with the U.S. Copyright Office?
"In the United States, copyright is attached as soon as the work is created". That is not specific for US, as almost all countries agreed on the Berne convention. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/…

comment Does one really need multiple instances of a class?
There is a difference between having only a single instance, and the singleton design pattern. And besides, I have so far not seen any recommendations that MVC should only have one View, and one Controller instance. Particularly in web-based MVC frameworks, the framework will create an instance pr. request
