Software developer. I work primarily in C#, Silverlight, SQL, and ASP[.NET] at work and home, but am trying to find a new practical language to learn that isn't quite so C-based. Right now I'm refreshing my abilities in functional programming with some F#. Also somewhat experienced with C++, PHP, Java, LaTeX, HTML/CSS, WPF, and a touch of Scheme.

comment Best practice in setting return value (use else or?)
For the first one, why not just return Calendar.SUNDAY == cal.get(Calendar.DAY_OF_WEEK)? Something that simple doesn't even need an if-else.

comment Does over-reliance on tools imply that you are lazy?
If I'm not mistaken, doesn't Cleverbot just repeat what people have already said to it?

comment Anti Identity Column
Optimized in SQLite, maybe, but what about SQL Server? You can't always make that assumption.

comment What are bit operators good for?
@bit-twiddler - I know it's not bitwise; that's the point I was making. The question said bitwise operations were required for that operation but they're not.

"Without using any equality operator, create a function which returns true when two values are equal" - in C: return !(x-y);? I dunno
