how should I design Objects around this business requirement? I agree with that article (I had actually read the very same Scott Meyer's article against instanceOf()). For the very same reason, I am trying to come up with a better design to the problem I asked in my question. |

What design pattern is best suitable with this context? Effective C++ by Scott Meyers has a great article on double dispatch talking at great detail on how to implement it also! |

how should I design Objects around this business requirement? Please take a look at my edit. Apart from handling options and default, I'm faced with a concern: At runtime, how can I know if a given Object in variants[] is of Type LandPackageVariant or FlightPackageVariant ? |

What skills in game development are common in other software development areas? @espais: I hear you. Being in such a stressful state for this long time has really made me very wary of getting back into game-dev. I feel burnt-out and I'm hoping to make a switch into a related field. I just don't know what are my options for different domain/companies that are out there.. |
