comment Databinding When View Differs From Model
Well you need to query the database for it obviously. a select count query would get it without retrieving the actual rows.

comment Anybody use the Team Software Process (TSP) and/or Personal Software Process (PSP)?
That's the theory, sure. It fell down for me because almost be definition, I'm always working with "new stuff", new techniques. If you are working in McDonalds, or a factory production line, something that never changes, then fine.

comment Who is responsible to challenge a product owner?
This might be what Scrum dictates, but when each person has a defined actual company position, this may well get steam rollered. Then it's just a bad implementation of Scrum.

comment Productivity using .Net WPF for large ERP (LOB) desktop applicatons ~1500 forms\dialogs
@RobertHarvey - indeed, but like I said, my guess is they'll end up rewriting everything.

comment Productivity using .Net WPF for large ERP (LOB) desktop applicatons ~1500 forms\dialogs
@RobertHarvey - we don't know the whole app story, but I feel it's a safe bet to say your suggestion of "more than halfway there" won't be correct. They'll be re-writing everything. I'm guessing of course, but that's a gut feel.

it scares me that someone tasked with rewriting a massive system needs to ask this question here.

comment Company decides standard language for all development, or coder can pick their own standard…so that is the standard? What is the norm?
+1. The main exception is usually consulting companies. They will often have a broader range of skillsets than in-house dev teams, or small software product houses

comment Does MVC apply only to web
@Andy - that wasn't MS developer bashing, I'm an Asp.Net MVC developer myself, and I stand by original answer. I didn't say "all" people, or "all" .net developers, just an observation of an assumption or mistake that I have seen many people make. Thanks.

I assume the implied question here is "Is there a better way to do this"?

comment Planning poker with visually impaired colleague
@mouviciel - I just don't think this is a "programming/programmers" problem. Braille is the main textual solution for blind/partially sighted people and is applicable to any job. There is no question of the other programmers "willing to welcome" the blind programmer.
