Why do business analysts and project managers get higher salaries than programmers? "compensation is supposed to reflect the value of a person's contribution to the company." This defines the upper limit of the possible salary. As for lower limit, I think the explanation in programmers.stackexchange.com/questions/45776//45963#45963 is really great, as well as the one in programmers.stackexchange.com/questions/45776//45879#45879. |

Is software innovation still primarily North American and European? Why, and for how much longer? Note: As for Eastern Europe, most of it is now part of EU anyway. Cf. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:EU_Globe_No_Borders.svg |

Best web browser for a programmer Exactly. In all my carrier I never needed a single debugging extension in a browser, as I am not active in the web programming at all. |

How to proceed when a bug in open source libraries is suspected? Unfortunatelly the only repro I have so far requires several GBs of data, our application and several hours to run. I will try to reduce this somehow as my first step, as I understand the repro will be crucial to both maintainers or anybody external who might be looking at the issue. |
