comment Should all classes have a default constructor as part of good coding convention
@ross-patterson could you provide some further reading on why that's an anti-pattern? I dislike it because it means there's a way I can instantiate an object (albeit with reflection/misc hacks) in which the invariants of the class aren't enforced. Is there anything beyond this problem that's particularly bad?

Is this specific to a language or are you asking in general?

comment What does Private Cloud mean?
' A private cloud implies a range of advanced capabilities (e.g. full stack virtualisation, automated provisioning of servers, redundant failover sites etc.).' <---- and an API sitting in front of all of that for programmatic access to the infrastructure to control resources.

I use teleport instead of synergy, since it is OSX specific, supports copy/paste, and allows drag/drop of files between machines. Otherwise Synergy would be a valid suggestion.

comment My client wants me to add background music to a site. How do I tell them this is a terrible idea?
@kirk - If I let the quality and decisions of my work be absolutely dictated by my clients, I'd be working in the food services industry right now.

I unfortunately don't have much need for using multiple OS's at this point in time. My two machines are both running OSX, but I did try this at one point with an Ubuntu install on the 15" through VMWare (virtual yes, but I could assign lots more resources to it). So I can vouch for this setup... I just didn't need Ubuntu really and I have no use for windows whatsoever.

@Steven - and assuming you already have a machine that isn't 2+ years old at this point, just what would you do with it? :P
