comment Is there a clear leader amongst JVM-based languages?
Define "leader" :) In the pure sense of "# of times used", Java itself is the clear leader

Mod_cluster is separate to work against some of the shortcomings of mod_jk - I've added a link to my answer.

comment Twitter's new approach of third party application? How would you see this move as developer… especially you plan to build a twitter client
There will be a group of users that will move over. For sure not the mainstream. The api of status.net is similar enough to twitter to implement the most basic things by just having a different api endpoint. Status.net has the advantage that you can have private (=organization internal) instances. But then Justin Bieber will probably never be on status.net.

comment I don't program in my spare time. Does that make me a bad developer?
Of course :) I was especially referring to the "max productivity at 40h" - which sounded like if you do 5h hobby programming, you can only do 35h at work. Which I don't think is right

Programming as a hobby does not mean to work after hours on the biz job - this definitively does not scale. But programming a game on iPhone in ObjC as hobby can improve your skills and total productivity at work (if the work is e.g. writing financial apps in Java EE).

comment Differences between messages and methods?
Yes. But still you can only code a method call against something (in Java) that is well known at compile time. Calling MyObject.foo() will give an error if MyObject or MyInterface has no method foo() defined. ObjC will allow to send you a message 'foo' to object MyObject - and if MyObject has no 'foo', this will bomb at run time.
