comment C# Design for SQL connection and commands
@Lichoniespi - I'm not trying to be difficult, off topic questions tend to get closed/down voted quickly. I'm just trying to help improve your question. The help also says: "2.Questions concerning problems with code you've written must describe the specific problem — and include valid code to reproduce it — in the question itself. See http://SSCCE.org for guidance."

Your question is off topic for SO, and it would also be considered off topic on Code Review without example code.

comment At what point do immutable classes become a burden?
@pdr: Thank for your answer and examples. I accepted luis.espinal answer as I thought it was more applicable to what I was trying to resolve, although it was a hard decision to choose his answer. Your has more upvotes (including one from me) and I wish I could choose more than one answer to be the accepted one.

I'm want to make use of serialization so it would seem I'm already off to a difficult start.

@kevin: I'd not looked at it before but I'm going to have classes with collections and it looks like MemberwiseClone only performs a shallow copy.

comment Do most companies not know how to write software?
+1 for "software industry needs its own equivalent of Harvard Business School" comment alone; a great answer.

That's what I thought but it's hard to fight the instinct to create an application with clearly defined class resposibilities. I suppose I need to investigate how easy it is to stream objects to XML, it may not be too much work embedding the code in the objects to be saved.
