Well I am not explicitly adding different versions. Basically I have a WPF app. Now, in order to add a third party feature, I have added some DLLs and it's these DLLs that are maybe in conflict.

Try catches are must around codes which could fail due to reasons beyond your control. For example, a connection to a Database while the DB server is down. Other than that, putting them around every piece of code is indeed overkill.

@nikie: That means, if Dynamic Programming is a Design Pattern, then LCS and Matrix-Chain-Multiplication are Algorithms, implementing that Design pattern, right?
