comment How do I convert 64 bit frames to 32 bit?
We can't really understand your problem without more context. You need to find out the format of the image data. That's device-specific.

comment Is this a candidate for Singleton?
@user144171 It does not matter that you only plan to have one thermometer, or that the connection should always be open. It would be bad design to make it a static class or a singleton. Limiting your application to a single instance using DI is a cleaner, more flexible design. "Singleton" as you are imagining it (with a getInstance method) is practically an antipattern these days.

comment Deferred execution of Dispose for IDisposable objects
What would be the benefit of a dispose pool over a regular object pool? Wouldn't it be more straightforward to just reuse objects rather than cleaning them up so frequently?

comment Why is Python used for high-performance/scientific computing (but Ruby isn't)?
I can't find any reference to a dissertation or doctoral program on Guido's resume or publications list. Do you have a citation for that? This interview just says he was a researcher at CWI.

"Bolt-on" is used to identify a component that is quickly and easily added to another system. This distinguishes it from components that require more sophisticated integration or customization.
