Yea, but I don't agree with Joel's analysis of the windows culture. If you compare windows culture to the Mac culture or the web-startups culture, windows is extremely frustrating and unfriendly.

@rmx, Doing the job well is not an excuse for writing horrible code. Anyone can write spaghetti code that does the job, but not anyone can write code that does the job AND at the same time is clean and readable.

"a good coder writes code that looks like it was easy and straightforward to do." << EXACTLY! I think this is because people usually think a good coder is someone who can write very "clever" hacks. If the code is clean and not overly "clever", it must be easy, right?
