I like to hack things together in LISP (clojure at the moment) and java in my spare time. I'm interested in intelligent CMS solutions, AI, data mining and much more. I usually tend to be attracted to topics/technologies which present me with a challenge. If you have ideas which do fit my interests then feel free to contact me on arold (dot) adam (@) gmail (dot) com.

While not at the computer I like to play drums, pick locks and run around in airsoft fields with guns blazing.

I also created the tag on meta.

comment Does dress code affect your programmers performance
I don't think that programmers in general care about each other's dress.

comment Choosing between CL and Python for web development
I won't start a PHP vs Whatever flame war. Everyone has his / her own subjective thought on that and besides I **don't like ** PHP so it is not an option anyway.

Ok what I will do: I will learn LISP and Python too, but I will use Python, because the reasons you and others mentioned above. Thanks for the clarification.

VPS is not a problem because my ideas won't work with shared hosting either.

I don't really like PHP so this is not an option for me. Since I am my only boss no one forces me to use something I don't like. :)

comment Why isn't Lisp more widespread?
Programming is not about problem solving? I don't think so. And by the way I don't think that you can learn a language in college either.

@Jeff O, yes I did...with the ones I was interested in (Java, PHP, Python)...and there are others to come.

Ok, I see the point in your second paragraph. "if the next new language comes along does not describe itself as powerful, it will have an immediate disadvantage against previously existing competitors". So if a language misses this "feature" it is a disadvantage. You don't see my point though...I wasn't talking about weakness, I was talking about "powerful".
