Yo dawg, I hear you like tags, so I put a programming language in your xml so you can awkwardly code while pretending it's not coding.

comment What are the worst false economies in software development?
The intent is to save time "wasted" on things you do every loop. E.g., Building, testing, releasing, paying attention to users. That's the excuse, anyhow. I think it's really rooted in avoidance of discomfort.

comment Finding a new job when my skillset isn't matching the job ads
@Thomas: I can't speak for all companies, but I definitely hire people people who don't know our particular stack well. E.g., we're all Ruby right now, but I just hired a strong Python guy. We're a little unusual in that we practice pair programming, so it's easier for somebody to pick up our stack. But even without that I don't really care what stack they've mastered. I've explained a little more in our posting: needfeed.com/about/jobs

comment What to do if a team member misses a sprint planning?
@quant_dev: Mine's like that. Some people are stronger than others in particular technologies, but if you pair frequently and consistently work on a good mix of stuff, it's not a problem.
