Why do Git/Mercurial repositories use less space? From this link (found from VonC's linked questions): git-scm.com/book/ch9-4.html -- I understand that it's exactly what you were saying. It's creating packfiles of similar items, storing only one full file and the others as deltas. |

Why do Git/Mercurial repositories use less space? I haven't, thank you! So I understand from those that there are two answers: compression using zlib and saving objects as packfiles when possible. The examples from Mozilla is also great! |
