@Anto, yes, that's what I meant. Some bosses companies are big sticklers about such things. If you aren't comfortable asking about it, then most likely it isn't something your employer will see as acceptable. @jwenting makes a good point as well.

+1. There are a lot of resources for showing off your skills and experience besides just a resume. If you are taking that much time off of work, just make sure to have something come out of it that you would be proud to show a potential employer
