comment Best cloud-tool approach today for a Feed app?
Re (3), again if that's how you're running your site, great, and thanks for pointing that out, for giving the situation. My longer comment above perfectly explains why the view is wrong - but that's fine.

Hi Glen - I was referring to SE in general by using their main brand SO, but no worries. (2) gnat constantly/always refers to himself/herself using verb tenses that would be used for ownership (such as "We already ..."), so, live it. "Stakeholder" is a broad concept these days, so referring to gnat as "at" SE is completely normal. Note that you also do this: there's your "community", defined as being not me. {I've only ever gained say 30,000 points on SE sites, so I'm not in your "community".} (Also note that SE is a "business", not much can be done about that language.)

comment Other than iOS - Are there other languages or frameworks where Tables are known as a single column of data?
In general I both agree with your comments and find them interesting but, (a) as your buddy as it were I say "who gives a toss?", it's only a passing thought ... "oh, Apple named that poorly" OK, fine. That's all there is to it - everyone agrees, and/or, it's just not worth discussing. and (b) it would seem to be off topic on this site, so that's that (and believe me, I hate the idiotic "off topic" business on these sites -- but it's their site).

Hi gnat (The site you mention (about farting etc) is totally unrelated.) Of course, as a business you at SO can do absolutely anything you wish, including banning a certain type of question. That's a given. However, I fear you are simply confusing broad, systems level specific development questions, with, "stupid recommendation questions". SO leans towards low-level specific development question (ie: pretty much "about code"), and again that's fine. It seems incongruous that SO does not support broad, systems level specific development questions.

Suit yourself gnat - but what site do you recommend for such a question? It's the first thing anyone asks these days, assuming you "work with computers"

Hi - this is simply wrong. You can trivially make "multi column" layouts using UITableView and it is done as a matter of course. You must have seen zillions of examples while using your phone. Moreover, as others have pointed out, the naming convention is really irrelevant, or at most a passing concern.

comment Is it good that testers are competing to see who opens more bugs?
Couldn't agree more with Moot. Of course people could do something stupid (file 100s of typos, etc) -- but "people can do something stupid" when following any scheme at all.

The simple answer is get your colleagues involved. As a team you will solve it in moments.

Who the heck voted this answer down? This whole question is becoming incredibly ridiculous! Good grief.

Anto -- everything you say in your comment above is nonsensical: no offence. C was not developed "as a systems programming language". It is just bizarre to say that. If you weren't there at the time, read up on the history. Sure, it is used for systems development (but perhaps there will now be another marvellous SO question "Why isn't Java used to write driver and system code?!?!") but then, it is used FOR EVERYTHING, it's the basic worldwide everyday low-level programming language. (Actually is there even another low-level language than c?)

I think it was very admirable that EdS said "Then I bow to you sir because you have more experience in the area than I do". If only more people could show that sort of courtesy in internet discussions. Hat tip to EdS.

What? Uri said: "and now you see more and more Java there [bot traders]" ... state where? Where do you "see that"? What company?

Anto, c/c++ was not a "systems programming" language. C is "the" low-level computer language. Only assembler is lower-level. This is why C is used for programming ... everything. Higher-level languages (perl, Java etc.) are fantastic, and they have their place too.
