comment How to do you judge the value of using TDD or plain unit testing in an Open Source project? Is there a good rule of thumb?
I find great value in unit testing once the code stabilizes a bit. At the end of the day I am one guy, and writing 90 million lines of unit tests is impractical. My project is linked in my profile if you are interested is what it is.

@JeffO there are times when writing tests take as much or more time and have negative returns as the code they test gets rewritten due to poor understanding of how to structure it to begin with.

I am doing both. I am writing an IDE plugin to support a dynamic language.

Fair enough - I suppose they could just provision your device with the required certificates

comment iPhone App Store Release Question
I suppose I could be wrong. I just recently read about all this, and admittedly was a bit confusing - there was definitely a difference somewhere in the guidelines - but I would have to re-read them now since you have a different interpretation. I think you can install a B2B app on any device. Enterprise apps require provisioned devices which can be locked down - and personally, I would not let my personal device be provisioned in that manner.

That program is not compatible with BYOD. The company must own the devices.

Obvious typo in the title, used correctly everywhere else.

comment When to separate a project in multiple subprojects
I think your critiques are valid. I just don't think that was the point of the question.

comment Could a programming language work as well without statements?
+1 For mentioning Lisp. The canonical example of an expression language.

comment Why is multithreading often preferred for improving performance?
You are assuming that the interprocess communication would increase the overall overhead. However if the processing state is immutable, or only needs to handle synchroniztion upon start/completion. it can be far more efficient to fan-out into more parallel tasks. The actor pattern is a good example, and if you haven't read about it - it is really worth reading up on. akka.io
