comment Why are people so strongly opposed to #region tags in methods?
I generally dislike regions. A lot. However, I've started using them recently inside methods for tracing/logging. We do a LOT of logging in our current project (a single file is about 40% logging). This makes code quite difficult to read for me (who is more focused on the 'logic' part) -- so I hide away the tracing code in a #region Diagnostics.

comment Design flaws and dealing with humiliation from it
Why the attachment to your design? The goal should be to do what's best for the product/company. Propose something. Ask people for their thoughts; ask them to find flaws. Found flaws? Rinse & repeat. No flaws? Go for it. Needs debate or discussion of pros/cons? Then do so. Defend your design where it needs to be defended. Let go of it when it just isn't working. Why would any of this be embarrassing? It's brainstorming. People should always have the flexibility of suggesting the wildest, stupidest things....

comment So they're trying to pull me into management
Remember to delegate. I find a lot of new developers-turned-managers fail to delegate...end up doing way too management, not enough tech work. Delegate your meetings whenever you can. Delegate management work if someone in your team is interested. Find time for your tech work.

comment Perks for new programmers
Agreeing with the not own office. More appropriate when you've got people reporting to you.
