comment How long can it take for a screen to appear before it's considered a performance issue?
@8kb what is the issue that is causing the screen to take so long to appear.

comment Am I overusing trees as a model or are they just very common?
If it works for you, and does not hamper the production of code it probably should be fine. And you probably can get higher performance when retrieving data from trees.

comment How do you feel about being asked to code during an interview?
I am surprised that a "programmer" does not know what a prime number is. I am surprised and appalled that after looking it up you could not figure out how to create at least a brute force algorithm to solve the problem.

comment What are the security risks/vulnerabilities every C programmer must be aware of?
@Steve the question was not asking about stuff that only concerns C, but something that C programmers should be aware of.

comment Should one learn new languages or only should concentrate on languages you already know and increase your knowledge of it?
And most of the times learning a new language might expose you to a design pattern or something that is useful that you had never thought of using your own languages.

comment What happens if you're unable to solve a problem?
-1, it is definitely possible to be given a problem which is impossible to solve. "Design a brute force password solver which can crack 30 character passwords in under a minute, which needs to run on a Pentium 2 with 256 megs of ram."

comment Real-time collaborative text editing (ie gdocs) - is it a viable software development tool?
@Steven A. Lowe, When was the last time you used Gdocs? At least 4 or 5 months ago they improved the networking on it. Typing is in real time and seems to have less than .5 seconds in latency. Is that not instant enough for you?

comment Make a big deal out of == true?
Having some someBool able to be something other than TRUE/FALSE is bad coding practice.
