comment Is developing games the best way to learn programming?
this is what I thought originally. But consider your absolutely new to programming. Gaming seems like an excellent tool to learn many different concepts. Michael lists some of those. To be honest I wish I would have learned OOP from a gaming perspective first. But that could have been due to the fact that it was poorly explained, or that developing business applications makes it a little more difficult to grasp the concept. It's definetly interesting to observe both arguments.

@Gabe Good one. Its just that before I hard code a value I cannot help but think twice, or three times...I'm sure there has to be a balance because I have simply not been able to program without hardcoding occasionally.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah every time I took a course or read examples the one writing the code always treated hard coding values as a shortcut but never to be used in production.

@Shamit Verma this is exactly what I wanted to know. Are there any resources on accessing a key through a web service?

Web Forms does have benefits though. For example the thousands of ready to use controls for rapidly building web apps has been a plus to selling my customer on a website.

@syrion It really depends on the API. Some call them client ids, application ids, API key. Basically the code they give you that allows access to an API.
