In Distributed Version Control, there is the word "Distributed" ! As a developper working alone, you wont use the distributed features of a DVCS. You should always stick to the simplest tool that does the job, not to the most feature full.

I'm sure that it isnt universal, but around here (Switzerland) there is a very strong reluctance to move to .Net. And I should add that the reason to prefer java over .Net is more a tradition, not really based on the technical reality ...
