comment Why is OOP difficult?
I've been learning Haskell recently. The more I learn and understand about functional programming, the more I feel OOP is hard. I think the main reason for this is OOP tries to tie together the data (object/class) together with the function that operate on them (method). This is the source of the problem and many OOP design patterns are devised to avoid tying data and functions together. Example, factory pattern is used to separate the constructor (which is a function) from the actual object it's operating on.
